NPSPD is an organisation which caters for the needs of people with disabilty and their families, and organises a number of activities throughout the year. It is also a leader in bringing forth disability issues to the public domain and engages in discussion with all parties who have at heart the interests of people with disability.   

Among the activities organised by the Society there are Live-In Weekends, dinners and get togethers as well as. educational activities. For a brief overview of the NPSPD, please click here.

It also issues a newsletter to keep contact with its many members and to inform them of all the developments that are taking place and of the activities held or to be held by the Society.

L-GħNĠPD hija organizzazzjoni li taħseb għall-ħtiġiet tal-persuni b'diżabilita u l-familji tagħhom, u torganizza għadd ta' attivitajiet matul is-sena. Hija wkoll minn ta' quddiem biex twassal il-problemi tad-diżabilita lill-pubbliku u tidħol f'diskussjonijiet ma' kull min huwa interessat fil-persuni b'diżabilita.

Fost l-attivitajiet li torganizza l-Għaqda nsibu l-Live-in Weekends, ikliet u get togethers, kif ukoll attivitajiet edukattivi. Biex tieħu idea ġenerali ta' x'inhi l-Għaqda, jekk jogħġbok, mur hawnhekk.

Toħroġ ukoll ċirkulari biex iżżomm kuntatt mal-ħafna membri tagħha biex iżżommhom infurmati bl-iżviluppi li jkunu qegħdin iseħħu u bl-attivitajiet li jkunu saru jew li jkunu sejrin isiru mill-Għaqda.

NPSPD Subcommittees

Activities Subcommittee

The Activities subcommittee is responsible for the organisation of all the social activities organised by the NPSPD. It has a full programme throughout the year and organises dinners, get togethers and Live-in Weekends as well as other activities to bring together the members of the society.

Accessibility Subcommittee

The Accessibility Subcommittee has started actively working to bring to the attention of the authorities the serious problems that are to be found in many places as regards accessibility for the disabled, in line with the published accessibility guidelines.

Adult Life Subcommittee

The Adult Life Subcommittee is involved in discussing and monitoring the situation in the transition form schools to Adult Training Centres and residences for the disabled, especially with regard to standards to be adopted in these areas. 

Education and Children Subcommittee

The Education and Children Subcommittee studies the situation in the education sector with regards to persons with disability and presses for improved educational services to children with disability.

Day Centres and Policy Subcommittee

The Day Centres and Policy Subcommittee is involved in the monitoring of the situation in Adult Day Centres and how conditions can be improved.
